Speaker Botox Out Of Touch With Iraq

It’s amazing how fast people in government forget things…
(Raw Story) House Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told reporters on Wednesday that she feels it is “sad” that President Bush continues to blame Iraqi insurgent violence on al Qaeda.
“My thoughts on the president’s representations are well-known,” Pelosi said. “The 9/11 Commission dismissed that notion a long time ago and I feel sad that the president is resorting to it again.”
I’m not exactly sure what Speaker Botox is trying to say here. If she’s trying to allude to the fact that Iraq didn’t blow up the Twin Towers, she is correct. If she is trying to say that there weren’t terror ties to Iraq before our invasion, she is playing blissfully ignorant of a mountain of reliable, actionable intel.
If she’s trying to say that there is no Al Qaeda in Iraq… then she’s got Alzheimer, or is will fully forgetting about dead terrorist, and former leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi.
She’s also forgetting about the current leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Hamza Al Muhajir, as featured in the sidebar of this blog. Why she would be living in denial of these facts is beyond me.
Then again, perhaps she is an Ivy League student, and not aware that there is a war going on in Iraq.
In any case, it is rather “sad” that the Speaker of the House wouldn’t be more aware of the sitrep in Iraq.

Good post, I have to agree that this is once again pretty ridiculous, these people are just selectively blind, as usual. I can understand though why the Speaker wouldn’t be more aware of what’s going on in Iraq, it’s really hard to hear facts and truths when you’ve got your fingers in your ears and are screaming “I can’t hear you, lalalalalala, I can’t hear you, Bush lied and soldiers died, lalalalala, war crimes, lalalalalala”
