Reply to Ahmadinejad

A folk tale retold in numerous cultures, with a varying cast of human and animal characters, teaches a lesson about ignoring a being’s history and character.

In one telling, a frog is about to swim a river when he is approached by a scorpion wanting to hitch a ride across. Initially the frog refuses, fearing the venomous creature. But the scorpion insists that he can be trusted and the frog relents.

As the pair reach the halfway point of the stream, the scorpion’s tail strikes out and his barb pierces the frog’s flesh. The poison cripples the frog, and as both creatures sink beneath the waves to their deaths, the frog asks his passenger, “Why did you sting me? For now we both will surely die.”

“I couldn’t help myself,” the scorpion responds. “It’s in my nature.”

Ahmadinejad you are the scorpion, America needs to be smarter than the frog.

I choose not to trust the scorpion.
