I don’t get it… I just don’t.

I try and write about things on this blog that I feel matter, and are important. Very occasionally, I’ll do a post about some idiot celebrity who has said or done something stupid… and it seems like those posts are the ones that get all the hits.

Back on the 21 of November, I did a post about Scarlett Johansson, on that day, I had a spike in traffic by nearly half-again of what I usually get. So if I get a thousand hits per day, then I got an extra five hundred just for mentioning Ms. Johansson.

Additionally, I got some wonderful hate comments on that thread which I declined to publish. The gist of them being that I was an outdated misogynist hate monger, who liked my women chained to a stove, barefoot and pregnant.

Nothing could be further from the truth… I wouldn’t chain anyone to a stove. (In case you missed it, that was a joke)

Yesterday, I made a very minor post about Britney and her lack of undergarments. Considering what I wrote, it was more like half a post, mostly just an Ad for Michelle’s Vent. Yet again, the same thing happened… half again as many hits as I normally get.

This concerns me, it really does. I consider these kinds of post to be fluff. I honestly could not care less if Britney is flashing her scarred up, razor-burned, bits. I find her to be repulsive.

From Hot Air:

But seriously, WHO CARES! The only people who care about seeing her private parts are prepubescent boys and the kind of people who actually THINK about what the Hollyweird type crowd is doing at any particular time. To real America, it doesn’t even register.

I agree that “Real America” shouldn’t give any thought to having Brit’s naughty bits on film. However, just based on the unscientific evidence as posed by my blog hits, a lot of Americans do care.

This is disturbing.

I would much rather have those “half again” hits happen when I post things that matter, like radical Islam, or the situation in Iraq… and not on what shade of lipstick Britney is using on her vertical creases. I would much rather have the “half again” hits when I talk about child safety or information security, rather than if Sapphire or Diamond body piercing jewelry goes better with thong underwear.

I don’t get it, I just fail to understand it.
