It is important to note that the President’s surge plan has the backing of the Iraqi government, and they have put all of the sectarian militias on notice.

Since the Anti-Surge politicians are thus far offering no new ideas that they believe would work better than the proposed plan. I suppose having a productive discussion about Iraq is too much to ask.

An example of the Bush Derangement Crowd’s response would be found here. Obliviously asking for something more intelligent than a “@#$% You!” is too much to ask.

If the Dems, and some Republicans, and the anti-war crowd are going to sit around with their thumbs up their butts and criticize the plan that the Iraqis, Sec Def Gates, the President, and General Petraeus came up with, the least they can do is offer suggestions as to how to improve things.

That is something to improve things that doesn’t involve a phased withdrawal which would lead to a:

…a collapse of the Iraqi government, tear the country apart, and result in mass killings on an unimaginable scale.

For those who believe that if we pull out, that the Iraqis will suddenly take to mountains and start singing in perfect harmony, hand in hand with their Kurdish, Shia and Sunni neighbors; you are living in a dream world. Just look to history, and the death of hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese upon our withdrawal from Vietnam as proof that it won’t work.

Why is it so wrong for President Bush to expect all those people who have been screaming for us to withdraw to offer up a plan that works. We know from history that a phased withdrawal won’t work.

However, since those in congress, and those “anti-war” persons refuse to attempt to come up with something better, we assume they they are in favor of a withdrawal. This by it’s very nature, will increase violence in Iraq.

So I hereby create a new blogroll.
