Marcotte Resigns
February 13, 2007 | By Sniper One |
Yeah… whatever….
It’s not like I was going to vote for Edwards before he got her to blog for him, and her inclusion in his campaign didn’t make a hill of beans of difference to me. Yes, that means that I have not been part of the right wing histrionics that have been revolving around Marcotte.
As far as I am concerned, the Dems need to get more highly prominent controversial bloggers to represent them. If for no other reason than watching so many people freak out about it was amusing as hell.
Her inclusion (to Edwards Campaign) did seem to make a difference to a lot of people on right… even though they weren’t going to vote for him anyway. This whole “blogger controversy” has struck me as a tempest in a teapot, which is why I’ve written (sarcasm) so much about it (one post).
In any case, she’s out.
I was hired by the Edwards campaign for the skills and talents I bring to the table, and my willingness to work hard for what’s right. Unfortunately, Bill Donohue and his calvacade of right wing shills don’t respect that a mere woman like me could be hired for my skills, and pretended that John Edwards had to be held accountable for some of my personal, non-mainstream views on religious influence on politics (I’m anti-theocracy, for those who were keeping track). Bill Donohue—anti-Semite, right wing lackey whose entire job is to create non-controversies in order to derail liberal politics—has been running a scorched earth campaign to get me fired for my personal beliefs and my writings on this blog.
Frankly, she just never mattered enough (to me) for me to join the “vast right wing” hit job on her.
Here is a bunch of links to wrap it up:
- American Princess
- Little Green Footballs
- Hot Air
- Memeorandum (Michelle Malkin)
- Protein Wisdom
- Right Voices
- Darleen’s Place
- Captain’s Quarters
- Blackfive
- Daou Report (Pandagon)
and just because Kirsten Powers makes me laugh:
Not surprisingly, Amanda Marcotte has resigned from the Edwards campaign. Her statement on her blog regarding the brouhaha bears no resemblance to the statement she put out defending herself while she was still on the campaign, in which she faked concern for those she had offended with her attacks on Christianity.
In her updated statement, she takes no responsibility for dragging down a top-tier Democratic campaign, putting John Edwards in a position to have to defend her intolerant rantings about Christianity. Rather than just gracefully resigning when the story broke, she and her far-left blogger brethren engaged in the Mafioso like behavior that is their hallmark: threatening the Edwards camp if they didn’t stand up to the “right wing noise machine.” Never mind that she had offended religious people on the Left.
Now that Marcotte is off the campaign, she can return to playing victim to the white male patriarchy. (She asserts in her posting that she was attacked in part for being a woman). Reading her statement is like being trapped in a time warp circa 1970. Sure, what feminist hasn’t raged against the “Man”? But Marcotte’s specific brand of victimology went out of style with gauchos, pale blue eyeshadow and Sean Cassidy.
Ow… gotta hate it when you get beat down by a fellow female democrat…
Oh… and McEwan is out too… whatever…
