U.S. Urged to Reconsider Venezuela Ban

Time to wrap your head in duct tape. This woman is so mind-numbingly stupid it hurts.

CARACAS, Venezuela - A U.S. congresswoman called on the Bush administration Wednesday to reconsider its ban on selling parts for U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets to Venezuela, urging improved ties between the two nations.

U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Texas Democrat, told reporters that she was making the first U.S. congressional visit to Venezuela since President Hugo Chavez’s December re-election with the message: “I want an immediate repairing of the relations between the United States and Venezuela.”

Jackson Lee described Venezuela as a friendly nation that the U.S. should cooperate with and said that the F-16 jets, which are built in Texas, was an issue of concern to her constituents in Houston.

Hugo has threatened the US. He has an active Hezbollah presence in his country. He’s close allies with Iran….

… and you want to send him F-16’s?

You might as well just walk into the streets of your home district and start killing people. Selling military hardware to Chavez, is just selling military hardware that we will have to end up shooting down or blowing up later.

I’ve already sent Rep. Jackson Lee a message questioning her sanity, you can send a message to her as well. Lets hope that she gets recalled from Congress before she can do any real damage.

Its Sheila Jackson Lee - she’s dumb as a stump. Won’t do much harm but will be great propaganda for Chavez. Liberals are still Communism’s useful tools.

  2. As I stated at Hotair.com,

I have no problem with selling Chavez F-16 parts.

#1 The F-22 can clean the F-16’s clock
#2 The F-35 JSF Can clean the F-16’s clock
#3 The F-15 can clean the F-16’s clock
#4 The F-18 can clean the F-16’s clock
#5 And any of our Sea-based Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers, or Ticonderoga Class Cruisers can waste anything within 200 nautical miles with their Standard Missle Mk-2 (RIM-67 SM-2ER)

So if we can get Venezuela to pay to maintain their over priced F-16s, they have a ground support fighter that can’t stand up to anything in the USAF or USN, and we have an enemy that didn’t have that money to buy improved MIGs.

    Remember:

“[A] wise general makes a point of foraging
on the enemy. One cartload of the enemy’s provisions is equivalent to twenty of one’s own, and likewise a single picul of his provender is equivalent to twenty from one’s own store.

-Sun Tsu “The Art of War”

If we can take the enemy’s money in return for something that is of no threat to us, I say go for it.

Deplete the enemy’s resources to enrich ourselves. And more importantly: Our defense industry.

(And of course Venezuela should be restricted to over-priced spare parts and NO UPGRADES OR ADVANCED MUNITIONS.)

The point is to Take their money, and give them stuff that makes their pilots “Sitting Ducks.”

[Sniper One: While I sorta agree with you in spirit, not everyone is the US. If we allow the buy to go through, and he turns that new firepower against one of his neighbors... do they have the firepower to fight back? I guess I just have an issue with arming this guy. He's a snake, and I don't feel like getting in bed with a snake.]
