Feminism & Polygamy

February 27, 2007 | By Sniper One |

I am NOT in favor of legitimizing bigamy, or polygamy, or any other kind of marriage other than between one man, and one woman. However, having said that…

So one of Mitt Romney’s Great-Great-Grandfathers had a dozen wives… so what? The current LDS church does not practice or endorse the practice of Polygamy.

I’m thinking that Mitt’s Great-Great-Grandfather was a very well behaved male role model for his sons and grandsons.

Why would I say such a thing? Think about it. Your a man, and your living with twelve women, and all the children. Twelve women, all on the same biological clock… and you’re the male in charge.

As far as I am concerned this is a recipe for gang violence. Twelve pms-ing women, and one husband to beat up on. Even if you have the most mild mannered mousy wives in the world, you get twelve of them together, and you get them all mad at you… and your just asking for a knife in the back in the middle of the night.

Can you image the jealousy factor? Maybe you spend too much time with wife 3, and wife 1 gets upset. Or child of wife 4 needs help with homework, and you spend more time with child of wife 4 than you do with child of wife 5. Son of wife 6 didn’t do his chores, daughter of wife 7 is causing problems with young child of wife 8… and the headache just grows.

I’d be setting up a cot at work, and never going home.

For whatever reason it seems to me that when you think of a guy with more than one wife, you think of some wife-beating drunkard. However, I really don’t think that’s accurate for the same reasons I mentioned above.

If your going to be a wife beating drunkard, the last thing you want is a chance that your wives are going to gang up on you. It will take all of about two seconds for women to realize that they out number you, and they will make your (or what’s left of your) life a living hell.

It seems to me that women being able to gang up on men would be a good thing for feminism.

However, I’m just a guy…

Silly boy! The man never helped any of the kids with homework — that was women’s work!

He was there to earn the living wage, impregnate the women-folk and to beat the women who were out of line… that’s the white man’s legacy. Haven’t you ever read the internets?

    :-D

I like this post! I mean with all you hear about today of school age girls fighting in groups just transfer that to a marriage where all the wives are pissed at the husband cause he didn’t do something.
    LOL
    Great visual picture
