An attempted amendment to the Senate bill that would strip the timetable from the budget bill went down in flames today 48/50. We owe this bit of political theater to the Senator from Nebraska, Chuck Hagel.

Statement of Purpose:
To strike language that would tie the hands of the Commander-in-Chief by imposing an arbitrary timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, thereby undermining the position of American Armed Forces and jeopardizing the successful conclusion of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I had someone actually complain to me the other day when I called Sen. Hagel an “Insufferable cocksucking prick“. I guess that person didn’t realize that was the nicest things I had to say about the dumbass from Nebraska.

Can someone explain the hypocrisy of voting for General Petraeus, (which Hagel did) but then doing everything they can to ensure his failure? How is an arbitrary timetable supposed to help us achieve victory in Iraq? How is this supposed to assist the troops?

I stand by my previous remarks that Hagel is a media whore, and an insufferable cocksucking prick. I just hope Nebraska can find someone who can represent them better in the next election.

I suppose saying that I think Chuck Hagel would have a great chance at winning the Democratic ticket is also something nice I can say. Too bad he’s supposed to be a Republican.
