I Support Imus

April 13, 2007 | By Sniper One |

Well sorta. I still don’t listen, and honestly don’t give a damn. But please… getting fired for calling a bunch of black women “Nappy Headed Hos”.

Color me unimpressed.

At least fire him for something worth getting fired over. This is hardly worthy of the ripple from a pebble thrown in the ocean.

He hasn’t said anything nearly as hateful as Rosie O’Donnell burped out on her last episode of the View. I blog more offensive things when I’m in a good mood.

So whatever…

I would not be suprised if Imus got picked up by Sirius or XM. Maybe someone should suggest he become a color commentator for the NCAA.

Now that’s comedy…

I have been very dismayed by the firing of Don Imus. That fact that CBS and NBS acquiesced to pressure created by persons that live on and create ciaos is a shame. Mr. Imus has done countless good in the world in several important areas; childhood cancers, autism, fighting for veterans, SIDS and making vaccines more safe to name the few that come off the top of my head. How can you make a decision to remove him without considering all of the additional potential someone like this has and the good he can do?

How is it that CBS and NBS caved in to two men like Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson? (hymmie town and Crown Heights riots), two men that thrive on racial discourse. If Mr. Imus were to stay on the air he could help bridge the gap between the races. I wonder what the reverends would have to do it that would happen? How would they be supported?

I think what CBS and NBC have done is acted like pawns in their cause of keeping a gap between the groups and to keep race relations far apart.

I don’t for one minute think that what Mr. Imus did was right or defensible however, firing was not the answer in this case. I believe that he would have used the same energy that he has for other causes for improving race relations.

So now we will have more black and women representatives in the media. While this will look like an increase in diversity, it will actually be a move backwards to the days when only the politically correct were permitted to air their opinions in the media.

If we’re going to take back America, we need to take it back for everyone: the curmudgeons, the controversial, and the offensive. There’s nothing inclusive about our society if these points of view are suppressed.

God’s Other Son just got sacrificed at the altar of Political Correctness. You can’t have dialogue if one of the preconditions is that nothing offensive may be spoken. The Language Police have harmed all of us.

I dopnt liek what he said, but Imus should not have been fired over it, THE ONLY REASON he was fired is because clients were dropping ads and it cose the station alot of money, Sharpton is a LIAR, RACIST AND AN IDIOT that got everyone going. He should be banned form TV…

Bring back Don Imus! Besides Rush Limbaugh, there’s not much else worth listening to on the radio!
