Not my title, but hers… and it works well enough that I’ll use it.

Cindy Sheehan is hanging up her spurs, or so she wants us to believe. She’s left the Democratic party, and now is leaving the anti-war (bowel) movement.

There isn’t much about her post that I found to be of interest. Mostly it’s just the typical “woe is me” crap she’s been doing since her son died. I suppose someone out there might be buying it, but I am not one of them…

However there are two points that should be looked at….

The most devastating conclusion that I reached this morning, however, was that Casey did indeed die for nothing. His precious lifeblood drained out in a country far away from his family who loves him, killed by his own country which is beholden to and run by a war machine that even controls what we think. I have tried every since he died to make his sacrifice meaningful.

Casey didn’t die in vain. Just because his mother wasn’t able to manipulate the world to her liking on the springboard of her loss, doesn’t mean that her son’s life was a waste.

As I understand it Casey died doing what he loved, and in a war he believed in. If he hadn’t believed in the war, why would he of VOLUNTEERED to go back to Iraq to help the Iraqi people?

If Cindy wants to believe that Casey’s death was in vain because of her failures, then so be it… but it’s not the truth.

Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives. It is so painful to me to know that I bought into this system for so many years and Casey paid the price for that allegiance. I failed my boy and that hurts the most.

I’ll agree with Cindy that Joe America cares more about things that are trivial and stupid. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, or the flake of the week don’t matter a hoot in hell in the long run. However our men and women in uniform, and this war against terrorism do matter, it’s a matter of life, liberty, or dhimmitude at the hands of Islam.

It’s a sad critique on our national state of mind, and she is dead on. As a nation, we are a disgrace to our men and women in uniform. The fact that we allow (or have allowed) the piss poor reporting, and the unchallenged sander by media figures like Keith Obermann and Rosie O’ Donnell to go on as long as it has is a dis-service to all of those who serve; it is an insult to every single soldier who has given all, and salt in the wounds of the injured.

It is a national tragedy and disgrace that we treat our men and women in the armed services so poorly in the media.

I disagree that it is the Republicans that are playing games with human lives. It is the democrats that have been playing games with the funding for the troops, and not the Republicans.

However, it is the Republican President, the Congress, and others who are playing games with our national security by allowing this reprehensible ”Comprehensive Immigration Reform” bill to move forward.

Cindy’s only mistake was to try and make Casey’s death a crusade. She didn’t fail him, she made a laughingstock of herself. Casey is still an honorable man, he died in service to all of us, and no one, not even his looney mother can take his honorable legacy of service from him.
