Pakistan Honors Osama In Response To Rushdie Knighthood

As I was saying earlier in the week, Pakistan has it’s granny panties in a wad over the Knighthood of Salman Rushdie. As usual, the religion of perpetual outrage is upset over something trivial.

So in response to an honor given to a writer, the Pakistani’s have given an honor to a mass murdering terrorists.

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Hundreds of Pakistanis protested against a British knighthood for author Salman Rushdie on Friday as their parliament renewed a call for Britain to withdraw the title and apologise for hurting Muslim feelings.
Rushdie, whose 1988 novel “The Satanic Verses” outraged many Muslims around the world, was awarded a knighthood for services to literature in Queen Elizabeth’s birthday honours list last week.
Chanting “Damn Rushdie” and “Down with Britain”, about 300 Islamists rallied in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
“Giving an award to such a big criminal is an insult to the entire Muslim world,” Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, a pro-Taliban cleric and leader of the opposition in parliament, told reporters.

I suppose that the Muslim world thinks that there is some kind of equality between Rushide, and Bin Laden. After all, Rushdie wrote a fairly lousy book, which nobody would of read had it not been for the Ayatollah Khomeini’s fatwa. Osama, mass murderer, and terrorist.

Rushdie, has killed no one. Osama, has killed lots of people.

I’m sure there is moral equivalence here somewhere… I just don’t see it. Must be because I don’t practice animal husbandry with Camels as a form of recreation.

In honor of Pakistan, I purchased a copy of Rushdie’s book, and I sat it up against my copy of the Koran. That way it has “The Truth About Mohammad” on one side, and The Satanic Verses on the other.

Pakistan is hardly an important ally in regards to the Global War on Terror, Musharraf and his country of goat herders can kiss my ass.
