Idiot People

My father has always said that I do not suffer fools well, and he is correct. Stupid people annoy the fuck out me. I don’t really care what color you are, or what you look like; as I see it most anything is forgivable as long as the person can hold an intelligent conversation. Unfortunately it seems that the ability to hold an intelligent conversation is getting harder and harder to come by these days.

I keep hoping that certain people who I know, or know of, will have one of those head-slapping epiphanies, and suddenly realize that which they have been missing. I guess that would be the tiny optimist in me, symbolized by the tiny angel on my shoulder.

However, most of me has come to realize that most people are beyond hope. You can get a face lift, you can get a tummy tuck, you can get Lasik, or you can take a pill to resolve some other issue; but folks… like “Ron White“ said… you can’t fix stupid.

For instance; Paris Hilton, for all her glamour and her money; would drive me to suicide if I had to put up with her for more than two minutes. The same could be said of Jessica Simpson; for all her looks and talent; the empty headed blonde thing just doesn’t do it for me.

Another good example would be the owner of a blog that I occasionally read. This imbecile spends a good portion of her time whining and complaining about how much her life sucks; how victimized she is; and generally is an attention whore looking for her cult of female followers to stoke her ego. The word *shallow* is too deep a word to use when describing this person.

She claims that everyone around her is cruel and heartless. Everyone takes advantage of her, and naturally for no reason at all. She is the victim in her life. She has done nothing wrong, and her shit doesn’t stink. In short, she’s all that and the diet coke, and walks on water to boot.

As you can well imagine, being a realist, I don’t buy it for a second. It sounds way too much like a Nigerian scam;

I’m in Nigeria, I was in a car accident while I was here, and my best friend died. Now I owe the hospital money and I can’t pay them. Can you loan me some money so I can get out of here? I’ll pay you back once I get back to the states…

Yes, if you can’t smell the bullshit on that, then you need to be a bit more jaded.

I can buy that people have had rough lives, I can buy that things occasionally suck. However, I can’t buy that you are ALWAYS on the short end of the stick. If you are consistently on the short end of the stick, you are doing it to yourself.

So I have this little annoying angel on my shoulder, who keeps telling me:

“She’ll see it. She’ll come to realize that she’s full of shit and get a clue. She’ll have an epiphany and realize that in order to be happier she needs to get off her ass and do something about her self-destructive behaviors.”

It hasn’t happened yet, and I am beginning to question what little faith I have in humanity.

I guess this is what happens when you remove “Darwinism” from the gene pool. The stupid, the sick, and the slow; don’t get killed off by the predators. They just continue to breed and make more stupid, sick, and slow people.

She questions why I read her blog if I dislike her so much; I guess it’s because despite being as crusty as I am, I still like to live in hope.
